Depending on the type of alternator, there are two different outputs: fixed voltage output and variable voltage output. Alternators producing a fixed voltage output operate independently of changes in the shaft’s rotational speed with the help of a battery and an alternator control unit, while in alternators producing a variable voltage output, the change in voltage value is due to the shaft’s rotational speed.
Alternator test systems are used for development or post-production quality control purposes. These systems simulate the shaft’s rotational speed in a controlled manner, allowing you to obtain data such as RPM, torque, voltage, current, winding temperature, etc., which are necessary to analyze the alternator’s performance.
